Scope of Services
Establishment of plants prior to and after quarantine.
Source Plants obtained through local breeding programs or imported cultivars selected for specific characteristics are established and maintained in a nucleus facility applying International Best Practices. The facility adheres to the South African Plant Improvement Scheme specifications. Approximately 2500 varieties are maintained in this facility. Plant material is used to establish foundation units. These plants are tested annually for the viruses as prescribed in the Plant Improvement Scheme.
